The 15-time Grammy Award winner released a statement through her representatives late Friday (April 19) to announce that she has split from husband Simon Konecki.
The pop singer’s reps announced the split Friday night in a statement to the Associated Press … saying, “Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.” Adele and Simon have mostly kept their relationship under wraps since they started dating back in the summer of 2011. She gave birth to their only son, Angelo, in October 2012. Adele and Simon eventually tied the knot in a super-secret wedding ceremony, but she didn’t confirm their union until 2017.
Adele and Konecki are parents to a 6-year-old son called Angelo, who was born in October 2012.
The couple have been immensely private, even though there has always been intense media speculation about their relationship.
Adele once famously hit out at reports that they’d started dating when Konecki was still married to his former partner, saying it would be “the first and last time” she’d ever comment on their relationship publicly.
However, the ‘Hello’ singer broke her silence five years later while accepting a Grammy Award to confirm that she’d tied the knot with Konecki.
“To the Grammys, I appreciate it – the Academy, I love you. My manager, my husband and my son, you’re the only reason I do it,” she told millions of viewers worldwide in 2017.
